Highlights of our London Fashion Week-end!

Text: Danai Alaska, OZON’s editor in chief

Ashish and his garden was our first show this time, early on Saturday morning .The sequined sunflowers -a very interesting interpretation to Van Gogh’s famous artwork- and all kinds of flowers were everywhere! As were sequins! Sequined tops, dresses, skirts all with flower prints were combined with bold animal and geometric prints even with brick wall tank-tops.

On Sunday we were not sure whether Marios’ show was so moving just to us, the Greeks, or whether others were able to understand the strings the designer pulled to our collective memory. Strong women, dressed mostly in black, the colour that needs no other colour. Women so strong they need nobody, who are ready to love and be loved for better or for worse, women who live only every summer. At the end Marios chose to appear wearing a cheap touristic t-shirt with Kazantzakis words written on it. “I fear nothing, I hope nothing, I am a free.” Words that mean so much to us, nonetheless words we still sell every summer.

Fred Butler s/s12 collection was all about experimentation. Mixes and matches that ended up in the strangest combinations, were the brightest of colors were used all at once, all on the same outfit. The result was quite surreal, closer to an art installation with pieces that are meant for avant-garde performances.
